That dream holiday
Do you want to have a dream holiday or buy that new games console? Whatever you want the best way of affording it is to start saving your money.
Saving some of your:
- pocket money
- wages
- benefits
is a sensible thing to do and the most likely place to save money is through a bank or building society account.
Ways to save money
- Decide what you are going to save for, it is easier to save when you are aiming for something.
- Start slowly, save for a short term goal first before moving on to a longer term goal.
- Commuting charges can be quite costly so if you get a bus or train regularly then consider buying a weekly or monthly rail/bus card.
- Consider walking or cycling to work if you can as it’s cheaper and helps to keep you fit and healthy.
- If you pay for lunch everyday, over the course of the week you will notice that you have spent a fair amount on food. Consider making your lunch at home the night before as this often works out cheaper and healthier.
- Try budgeting - This can help you cut out unnecessary spending and expenses and prevent you from running up big debts.
