What is Entry to Employment (E2E)?

Entry to Employment (E2E) is a pre-apprenticeship programme for young people to enable them to receive an introduction to employment and learning. The initiative is aimed at 16-18 year olds who are currently not in employment, education or training.

How you can make a difference to a young person?

As an employer you will be offering a young person first hand experience of the workplace. You will help young people make up their mind about their future whilst building their skills for the future.

Through E2E young people will be given the chance to build their confidence, their basic or key skills and their employability. This is so they can access employment after E2E or further training. A young person will have the opportunity to build vocational skills and understand more about the employment opportunities to them.

Who delivers E2E?

E2E is funded by the Learning Skills Council and is delivered by Connexions, work based learning providers and other agencies working together in partnership to help young people develop their skills and realise their potential.

Benefits for supporting E2E

By supporting the E2E programme there are many benefits to you as an employer.

  • Save time and costs on recruitment as you will assess potential new recruits in the work place.
  • Help develop skill shortages.
  • Existing employees can be actively involved in supporting and training a young person which in turn can complement their own personal development

Support a young person

You are important to the success of E2E. We are looking for employers who are prepared to support the initiative by offering work placements to young people. E2E needs as many organisations as possible, from large to small, national to multi-national and from craft to hi-tech to get involved.
