InterAct is an
- Mental Health
- Learning Disability.
Activities across these areas are enhanced by the development of social enterprise.
Our current mental health service provides information, advice, guidance and support for:
- adults (16+) experiencing or recovering from mental ill health
- adults (16+) at risk of mental health problems
The support is designed to enable clients to access and sustain evidence based beneficial activities such as:
- meaningful work
- learning
- exercise
- clubs, societies and interest groups
- self-help groups
We place strong emphasis on activities which are socially inclusive and which help clients to build supportive social networks.
We also provide stress management and workplace mental health training to employers and their staff.
InterAct’s learning disability project, Circles of Support, facilitates Circles of peer group Volunteers to help support young people with learning disability to gain the skills to achieve fuller and more inclusive lives.
InterAct Transitions Brokers help to ensure that young people with learning disabilities are properly informed about their options for further education and associated funding which may be available to facilitate this.
Social Enterprise
MillRace IT is a computer recycling and IT training social enterprise , ensuring nothing goes to landfill. This p rovides training and employment to the long term unemployed and those recovering from mental health problems. MillRace IT is able to reuse or recycle hundreds of tonnes of unwanted computers every year.
