Why should you care about your health? If you do, it will make you feel good, look good, and feel strong (physically and mentally). If you're fit and healthy you'll do well at school, college or work. These can all be affected by your health! It isn't always about having a cold or a bad back, health concerns every aspect of your life, from your diet and exercise to stress and drugs.

This section looks at some of the health issues that come up in life and show you ways of coping with them, or avoid them altogether.

Talking about things you're worried about will help. It can be difficult or embarrassing to talk about things with people we know well, so you might find talking to a Personal Adviser easier. Everything you say is confidential.

Whether you want to talk about drugs or depression, sex or spots, we'll listen and do our best to point you in the right direction. You can also see if there are any organisations listed that can help by searching Essex Young Life.

If you're only comfortable speaking to an Adviser of one sex or the other, that's not a problem, just say. Contact your local Connexions Centre or, out of hours, call Connexions Direct on 080 800 13 2 19.
